Iretta Dorothy Nuss, 101, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. She was born on October 10, 1920 to the late Edward Solomon Robison and Mary Weller Robison. Born in Washington County, MD, Iretta lived for many years in Arizona before returning to Hagerstown where she continued to reside and raise her family. She was employed with Corning Glass for 11 years and Hagerstown Shoe for 15 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown for over 50 years and attended Greencastle Baptist Church in Greencastle, PA with her family in recent years. Overall, Iretta was a wonderful homemaker, a skilled cook revered within her family, and a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Rider, her second husband, John Nuss, her son, Robert W. Rider Sr., her sisters, Agatha Heironimus, Lottie Wilderman, and Dolly Cross, and her brothers, Merl Robison, Lloyd Robison, Carl Robison, Millard Robison, and Edward Robison. She is survived by her grandsons, Robert W. Rider Jr. and his wife, Molly and Randy L. Rider, her great-grandchildren, Sarah Jo Rutherford and her husband, Daniel, Rebecca McKenzie and her husband, Andre, and Robert J. Rider and his fiancée, Elizabeth, six great-great-grandchildren, her brother, Max Robison, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Pastor Sam Woolcock will officiate. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
