Iona Virginia "Gumpy" Alexander, 70, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home. Born November 17, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lee Turner, Sr. and Frances Mae (Jordan) Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leon Alexander, Sr. in 2014. Iona was an avid Bingo Aficionado. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and is lovingly remembered as "Car 15" at Turner Taxi. Iona is survived by two daughters, Chrissy Berger and husband, Manny, of Hagerstown, and Francie Stouffer and husband, Kevin, of Waynesboro; two sons, Tony Alexander and wife, Angie, of Hagerstown, and Bobby Alexander, Sr. and wife, Sharon, of Greencastle, PA; one brother, George Turner of Hagerstown; Companion Gary Price, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Shelly Alexander; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Iona was preceded in death by her son, Charles Leon Alexander, Jr.; great grandson, Mason William Ditch; two sisters; two brothers; and nephew, George Turner, Jr. Services will be held 10am Monday, May 29, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 6 to 8pm. The family request the omission of flowers.
