Obituary

HOWARD RENO "TED" MORNINGSTAR, 73, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 in Homewood at Williamsport. Maryland. Born March 26, 1937 in Chewsville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Theodore Morningstar and Carrie Smith Semler. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1958. He retired from Mack Trucks after thirty-seven years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, MD. Ted was a member of Williamsport Red Men, Conococheague Tribe #84 and the Potomac Fish and Game Club. He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Morningstar; two daughters, Vicky Betts of Sharpsburg. MD and Lisa Wallace of Martinsburg, WV; two sons, Howard R. Morningstar, Jr. and Todd P. Morningstar, both of Hagerstown, MD; four brothers, H.G. Morningstar of Waynesboro, PA, twin brother, Morris W. "Bill" Morningstar of Smithsburg, MD, Dave Morningstar of Chambersburg, PA and Buddy S. Semler of Williamsport, Hagerstown, MD; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joey Morris. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. James F. Hay, Jr. and Rev. Daniel J. Pritchett will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742 or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Building Fund, Post Office Box 148, Funkstown, Maryland 21734.
