HILDA HENRIETTA SARCO, 97, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center. Born February 22, 1916 in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Emma Anderson Butterbaugh. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Sarco in 1970. She was retired from Fairchild Aircraft after twenty-nine of service. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was a member and treasurer of Fairchild Old Timers Club and a retiree of Union Local #842. She enjoyed traveling especially to Europe. Hilda is survived by two daughters, Julia Weicht and husband, Ronald of Williamsport, MD and Dunya A. Shaw and husband, Sherman of Fallbrook CA; one son, James Sarco of Madisonville, TN; one brother, George Butterbaugh; five grandchildren, Cassey Minnich, John Mumma both of Hagerstown, MD, Vanessa Pooleman of San Francisco, CA, Quinn Savona of San Diego, CA and Rhonda Weicht of Williamsport, MD; five great grandchildren; number of nieces and nephews; special friend, William Goodrich. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Bowman. Funeral services will be 11:a.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. William Bruce Dick will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
