Hilda Elmira Lowry, 94, of Hagerstown, MD passed away, at her home, on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Born January 27, 1929 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. and Helen E. (Middlekauff) Hause.

Hilda was married to the love of her life, Albert C. Lowry, Jr. for 67 years. Albert passed away in July 2016.

She graduated in 1946 from Hagerstown High School. She was employed by the Washington County Board of Education as a crossing guard for over 20 years, mainly at St. Mary's Catholic School.

Hilda was a member of Paramount Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Lowry, and wife, Carol, of Hagerstown, and Michael Lowry, and wife, Shelby, of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Lissa (Niki) Hinckle (Tyson), Wendy McDannell (Michael), Kelli Crisfulli, Justin Lowry (Amanda), Derek Hanes (Laura), Chad Lowry (Rachel); 11 great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband and parents, Hilda was preceded in death by grandson, Cody Lowry, who is dearly loved and missed; sister, Betty May, and husband, Lloyd May; nephew, Gregory May, and his son, Christopher May, and brothers-in-law, Roy and Robert Lowry.

Hilda thanks special friend, David Showe, Jr. and friends and neighbors at Emerald Pointe.

Services will be held 1PM Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Frank Duncan will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
