Helen "Tootie" Ida Waltz, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. She was born on December 17, 1941 to the late Lester Brown and Helen Brown.

Helen was a longtime member of the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and loved serving the fire department with her time and cooking. Her sweetheart salad and special Christmas cookies will be missed. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Stanley and even after retirement, she loved going out with her colleagues, "the girls", for lunch once a month. Helen was always active and social, including keeping up with her hair appointments and her visits to her two favorite salons with perfect regularity.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herlus "Joe" Waltz, her siblings, Wilbur Brown, Patsy Brown Williams, Susan Bradshaw, Cindy Rae Jones, David Brown, Lester Brown, and Louis Brown, and her great-niece, Channing Johnson.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Marie Johnson (Barrington Slavery), Greg Williams Jr., Valerie Williams, Tracy Carroll, Travit Williams, Billy Jones (Michelle), Brian Jones, and Sonya Brown Rodriguez (Macario), her cousin, Vincent Brown, many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and all of her family at the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Hall.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00am at New Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, 3444 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
