HELEN VIRGINIA SHRY, 93, a resident of Coffman Nursing Home and formerly of 1421 Salem Ave., Hagerstown, MD died April 25 at Washington County Hospital. Born December 28, 1914 in Clear Spring, MD she is the daughter of the late Albert C.M. and Elizabeth Riggs Houck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur P. Shry in 1983. She was a graduate of Clear Spring High School, class of 1932. She was employed at Hagerstown Bookbinding and Printing Company for 27 years and retired from Office Suppliers, Inc. She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria J. Holtzman of Clear Spring and Gladys L.Socks of Hagerstown; one brother, David Houck of Clear Spring; 5 grandchildren, Brenda Springer of Abingdon, MD, Cynthia Michael of Hagerstown, David Socks of Mechanicsburg, PA, Peggy Harmon of Falling Waters, WV and Tina Church of Hagerstown; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded by three sisters, Mildred Houck, Gladys Clark and Vivian Gordon and one brother, Glenn Houck. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00am at Christ's Reformed Church, 130 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown with Rev. Don R. Stevenson and Rev. Rebecca Hoover officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, 7:00-9:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd and one half hour prior to the service at the church.
