HELEN ELIZABETH MCALLISTER, 74, of 303 Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Sunday, August 19, 2007 at her home. Born January 19, 1933 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John J and Helen L. Pownell Ocker. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, John W. McAllister in 1997. She retired 1995 from Maryland Ribbon after thirty years of service. She is survived by five daughters, Starrlene Ramsey of Sharpsburg, MD, Alexis Munson, Erin Dawn Clark , Melanie Huffer and Quinn Thomas all of Hagerstown, MD; three sisters, Clearsey Nichols, Gloria Showalter and Martha Wiltrout all of Hagerstown, MD; one brother, Robert E. Ocker of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Timothy Munson, Jr., one sister, Elsie Ocker; two brothers, John Edward Ocker and Joseph Lee Ocker. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Chaplain Beth Johns will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
