Helen Mae Ganoe, 95, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Somerford Place.

Born July 30, 1930, in Middletown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Haupt) Smith.

Helen retired from Fairchild/Rohr Industries.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ganoe; sister, Gladys I. Mills; brother, Harold E. Smith; and two grandsons, Patrick Simmons and Justin Ganoe.

She is survived by one son, Randy Lee Ganoe; and two daughters, Cathy Diane Simmons and Kendra Sue Ganoe; one brother, Ernest "Buzzy" Smith, and wife, Mary, of Eureka, CA; one sister, Mary Evelyn Weagley, of Santa Monica, CA; four grandchildren, Ken Simmons, and wife, Denise, Chris Simmons, and wife, Angie, Mark Simmons, and husband, Matt, Misty Perla, and husband, Joe; six great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday, December 5, 2025, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Allen Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Friday, December 5, 2025.
