Obituary

Helen Elizabeth DeLauder, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Ravenwood Nursing Care Center. Born October 26, 1926 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William Guy LeFevre and Anna Mae (Stottlemyer) LeFevre. Helen was a member of the Hagerstown High School Class of 1944. Upon graduation, she began working as a secretary in the Transportation Department of Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown where she continued for 29 years. She was a member of Christ Reformed Church UCC in Hagerstown and a past member of the Washington County Homemakers. She also served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Antietam Motorcycle Club who along with her family was heavily involved with the motocross track on Howell Road from 1974 to 2003. She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey William DeLauder and partner Barbara Roulette and Andrew Milton DeLauder and fiance Kristin McGehee Vann, one granddaughter, Kelli Elizabeth DeLauder along with Helens special caregiver and friend, Patricia Dias of Hagerstown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Murdock DeLauder and her sister, Mildred Mae LeFevre. Services will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday November 17 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Rev. Dr. Derrick Hodge will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening November 16, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Helen was an avid lover of flowers, they will be graciously accepted. They will be donated back to Ravenwood Nursing Home as a thank you to everyone who shared a part in her time there. A very special thank you to all of the nurses, caregivers, and activity coordinators for all their kindness and care they gave to Helen.
