HELEN MARIE COBB, 88, of Homewood Retirement Center, 16505 Virginia Avenue, Williamsport, Maryland, passed on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Homewood Nursing Home. Born August 29, 1922 in Westerly, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Isabella McNeill Arzamarski. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Command Sergeant Major Frederick Milton Cobb, Jr. She was retired from Civil Service at Fort Ritchie, Maryland, and was a member of Toastmasters of Fort Ritchie, a long-time member of the Lioness Club of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and other various civic organizations. Helen was very adventurous, self-reliant, with an independent spirit. She loved to garden, travel, and retreat to her camp in Wellington, Maine. She is survived by three sons, Frederick M. "Rocky" Cobb III, and wife, Toni M., of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, George M. "Sandy" Cobb, and wife, Jeannie, of Elgin, South Carolina, Danny M. Cobb, and wife, Lori A., of Hagerstown, Maryland; five grandchildlren, Melissa D. Cobb and Angela M. Harold, both of Tacoma, Washington, Brandy M. McCabe and Courtney A. Collare, both of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and Emily M. Cobb of Hagerstown, Maryland; four great-grandchildren, Connor Frederick Flahaut of Tacoma, Washington, and Celine Collare, Chelsea McCabe and Shannon McCabe, all of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 6:00 p. m., followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p. m. officiated by Pastor David Vance.
