HAZEL "MARIE" (GOGAN) POWERS, a resident of Clear Spring, Md., died Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md. Born November 7, 1928 in Benton, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Oriole Gogan. She and her late husband Rev. James W. Powers, were married on January 28, 1947 in Waterville, Maine. They pastored Faith Temple Church in Cearfoss, Md. from 1964 to October 1994, at which time her husband, Rev. James W. Powers preceded her in death on October 14, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Marie Powers who died January 1959 in Amissville, Va. at age two. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters, all residents of Me. Mrs. Powers is survived by one son, Dennis J. Powers, wife Sheila and children, of Purcellville, Va.; and one daughter, Marsha G. (Powers) Fritz, husband Gene and children, of Clear Spring, Md., one sister Eva Smith and one brother Walter Goran both of Maine. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday from 6 to 9 p. m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Md. 2l740. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Faith Temple Church, 14015 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, Md. 21740, with viewing one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ronald Lynch, Rev. Dr. L. D. Savage, and Rev. Paul Markee officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, Md.
