Harry Luther Mowen, 82, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1943 to the late Harry Albert Mowen and Ruth Garns Mowen.

Harry served 37 years, retiring at the rank of Security Chief for Maryland Correctional Training Center in Hagerstown from 1967 to 2004. However, he will be best remembered for being a loving grandfather whose world revolved around his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Lee Mowen.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Moore and her husband, Robert, his granddaughter, Hannah Moore and her fiancée, Regan, his grandson, Michael Moore, and his sister, Harriet Pryor and her husband, Bob.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Shawn Bushman officiating.

Interment will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
