HAROLD LEE (TOMMY) THOMAS, 86, of Clinton Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Julia Manor Nursing Home where he was a resident. Born January 19, 1924 in Halfway, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Fannie Smith Thomas. He was employed with Fairchild Industries and Rohr Industries for thirty-nine years, until his retirement. He was a charter member of the Church of the Holy Trinity. He was a charter member of the Halfway Volunteer Fire Company. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Bertha I. Thomas; one daughter, Linda I. Boward, and husband, Guy L. Boward, III, of Hagerstown; one grandson, Gary W. Burger, Jr., and his fianc, Tara G. Myers, of Hagerstown; and one step-grandson, Randall L. Boward of Germantown, Maryland. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Brewer, and Charlotte Brown; and two brothers, Murray L. Thomas, and Elvert Thomas. Funeral services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Tuesday at 1:00 p. m. Rev. Timothy Leighton will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m.
