HAROLD SAUMUEL (MERT) PURDHAM, 78, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center. Born, May 16, 1938 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Isaac Purdham and Elsie Louise Shindle Purdham. Harold served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from Griffith Oil. He was a member of Virginia Ave. Church of God. Harold is survived by his wife: Loretta Moats Purdham; two sons, Michael Harold Purdham and Steven Wayne Purdham and wife, Lora Ann; five grandchildren, Aaron, Breanne, Morgan, Jacob, and Delaney Purdham; a great grandson, Dominic Lamont; two sisters, Shirley Smith and Dorothy Heil and four brothers, Kenneth, Don, Elmer and Ralph Purdham. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Richard (Arch) Purdham. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Dr. A. Paul Harne and Rev. Shawn M. Bushman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
