HAROLD WAYNE "Butch" EVERLY, 68, of 13641 Village Mill Drive, Maugansville, Maryland, died on Friday, August 15, 2008 at his home. Born October 25, 1939 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harold M. Everly and Catherine L. Smith. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Valley Assembly of God. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, Amvets #10, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the A.A.R.P. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Everly; two daughters, Belinda K. Jacobs and Teresa A. Everly, both of Hagerstown; five sons, Terry W. Everly, Bryan K. Jacobs, David M. Everly, all of Hagerstown, Dustin L. Everly, at home, and Timothy W. Everly of California; two sisters, Rosalie Layman and Kelly A. D'Amore, both of Hagerstown; four brothers, John Chaney, Michael Chaney, and Raymond Chaney, all of Hagerstown, and Jesse Chaney of Gaithersburg, Maryland; nine grandchildren, Daniel A. Jacobs, Christopher A. Jacobs, both at home, Zeb Jacobs, Taylor Jacobs, Toby Hollar, Audrey Hollar, Nick Everly, David Everly Jr, T.J. Everly all of Hagerstown; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Rocky D. Everly, and one uncle, Fred Burger. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard.
