H. DARLENE SPARACO, 82, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center. Born October 2, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Truman Carvel and Clara Bell White Smith. She was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was employed by Washington County Department of Social Services for forty-three years, retiring in January of 1992. She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, and Maryland Classified Employees Association. She is survived by nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Ann Parker, and her children, Mason Parker and Riley Parker, and goddaughter, Karen Lowry, and husband, Wayne. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl R. Smith, and John Clinton Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Edward L. Poling will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p. m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.
