Obituary

GUY L. CRUMBACKER, 82, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on his birthday, Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at his home. Born August 18, 1927 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William C. and Irma G. James Crumbacker. He worked at the commissary at Fort Ritchie, Maryland, until he retired on August 21, 1987. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army from October 1945 to May 1947 as a Technician 5th Grade. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mildred J. Diehl Crumbacker of Hagerstown; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bob Williamson and granddaughter, Kara Williamson of Hagerstown; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Jerry Heil of Sharpsburg, Maryland and grandson Jason Heil and great-grandson, Nathan Heil of Coral Springs, Florida; and one sister, Catherine Youngblood of San Diego, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice White and Eula Clever; and six brothers, Jess Crumbacker, James Crumbacker, Howard Crumbacker, William Crumbacker, Warren Crumbacker, and Charles Crumbacker. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 Friday at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. C. Michael Henning will officiate. A graveside military service will be conducted by Amvets Post No. 10. The family requests the omission of flowers, and memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
