GUY KEMPER CRONE, JR., 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Julia Manor Health Care Center. Born February 8, 1926 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Guy K. Crone, Sr. and Marie Spence Crone. Guy served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was employed with Statton Furniture for 50 years, and 15 years with Minnich Funeral Home. Guy was a member of AMVETS Post 10, American Legion Post 211 of Funkstown, and a life member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge 217 A.F. & A. M., Odd Fellows, and Elks Lodge 378. Guy enjoyed square dancing, and spending time with his faithful companion, Heidi Lee. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn May (Kitty) Crone; one daughter, Cheryl A. Strosnider and husband Arthur of Middletown, VA; one son, Dennis R. Crone and companion Nancy of Huntingdon, PA; one grandson, Phillip R. Crone of Chambersburg, PA; and one great-grandson, Bray Crone of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by a sister, Ruth J. Eaton and brother Charles Crone. Services will be held at 11am, Monday, July 21, 2014 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Randall Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by Washington County AMVETS Post #10 and Marine Corp. League of Hagerstown. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
