GREGORY ALLEN HAWKS, SR., 49, of Hagerstown, died on Thursday, April 16, 2009 in Hagerstown. Born June 28, 1959 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Leslie Clemens Hawks, Jr. and Peggy Ann Lum Hawks. He was a painter. He attended the Salvation Army in Hagerstown. He is survived by a daughter, Shawna Plotner , and a son, Gregory Hawks, Jr.; both of Hagerstown; three brothers, Todd Hawks of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ricky Hawks of Smithsburg, Md. and Randy Hawks of Jessup, Md.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Trevor Hawks. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue. Major Earl Fitzgerald and Major Todd Hawks will officiate. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, Md. to help defray funeral expenses.
