Gloria Lorraine
Rudisill
Oct 16, 1936 — Jan 1, 2024
Gloria "Glo" Lorraine Rudisill, 87, entered her eternal home in Heaven on Monday, January 1, 2024 at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD.
Glo was born on October 16, 1936 in Hagerstown, and was the daughter of the late Howard R. Taylor and Margaret I. (Houser) Taylor.
She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, class of 1954. She was a devout member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown and a follower of Christ since she was three years old. She was an avid member of the Sunday School program at St. John's for many years. She was a former member of the 378 Ladies of the Elks club.
Glo took extreme pride in taking care of her home and her gardens. She loved walking visitors around the yard and presenting her beautiful flowers. She had an incredible eye for holiday decorating; her collection was expansive. She also had a passion for exploring through travel. Impressively, she had seen nearly 45 states and traveled through over two dozen countries worldwide. She enjoyed spending a successful day at Charlestown and cheering on her favorite football team, the Ravens.
She spent much of her later years focused on her grandchildren. She would often host sleepovers with her granddaughters and thoroughly entertain with a plethora of card and board games.
Amazingly, she was happily married for over 67 years.
Glo is survived by her loving husband, William Walter "Walt" Rudisill, who she married on June 28, 1956, daughter, Cathy Marshall and husband John Marshall, brother Gary Taylor and wife Mickey Taylor, sisters Phyllis Zittle, Shirley Lowe, Margaret "Peggy" Heleine and husband Steve Heleine, granddaughters Nicole Keener and husband Chris Keener, Natalie Rudisill, great grandchildren Amaya Pettner, Chase Keener, and Sierra Paugh, great great grandson Rosco Paugh, and too many loving nieces and nephews to name.
She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Rudisill, brothers, Ned, Ted, Gerald, Howard, Raymond, Robert, Charles, David, and Richard Taylor, sisters Dana Wittington, and Linda Everhart.
