GILBERT ROOSEVELT SHUMAKER, JR., 53, of 10913 Rosewood Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born March 14, 1959, in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of Thelma Madaline Eavey Shumaker Nicodemus of Hagerstown, and the late Gilbert R. Shumaker, Sr. who died in November of 1983. He always loved to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved cars and trucks, and was known for detailing cars as "Mr. Clean". In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Chris Karn, and Anna Bond, both of Hagerstown, and Kathy Moore of Williamsport, Maryland; one brother, Tony Allen of Martinsburg, West Virginia; eight nieces and nephews, and sixteen great-nieces and nephews; and a loving companion, Pat Garns of Hagerstown. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m.
