Gerline Burnett, 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Doey's House.

Born March 13, 1936 in Washington, VA, she was the daughter of the late Virginia (Marlboro) and Joseph B. T. Dixon, Sr.

She retired from General Motors in Martinsburg, WV, after 30 years of service, from 1968-1998.

Gerline was a member of Lady of Elks, Sharon Temple #160, Tuesday Night Handicappers, Dual Lanes, Arand Kings Apostle.

She is survived by four children, Paula Burnett, Barry Burnett, Sr. (wife, Cynthia), Dale Burnett, and Nicola Burnett; six grandchildren, Chaka Burnett, Ashley Burnett, Barry Burnett, Jr., Joshua Burnett, Anastasia Broadus, and Teresa Gatewood; five great grandchildren, Timisha Ware, Tyqwell Fauntleroy, Tykeia Russ, Jeremiah Gateway, and Chloe Tynes; two great great grandchildren; Armani and Armon Gantt; and four brothers, Wellington Brown, Charles "Chuck" Smith, Dwayne Smith, and George Smith; and sister-in-law, Dr. Gertrude Dixon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nettie Frances Brown, and one brother, Joseph B. T. Dixon, Jr.

The funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E, Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Ricky Smith will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.
