GERALD ARTHUR KELLER, 92, of Taylors Landing Road, Sharpsburg, Maryland, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport, Maryland. Born October 11, 1920 in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Arthur D. and Ellen Katherine Christ Keller. He graduated in 1940 from St. Mary's High School. Gerald served in the Army Air Corp and served as a pilot trainer in WW II He retired as warden at Maryland Correctional Institute after 30 years of service. He was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He loved to golf and hunt and loved his San Francisco 49ers football team. He was a member of Williamsport Redman Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jane Keller who died June 25, 2010. He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Reid and husband Earl of Sharpsburg, Maryland; grandson, Robert Reid; sisters, Phyllis E. Burgess, Jean M. Keller and Mary Helen Helmer, all of Hagerstown; four brothers, Lynn E. Keller of Walkersville, Md., David L. Keller of Shippach, Pa., Carroll E. Keller and Michael J. Keller; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Rebecca Keller; six brothers, Father Robert C. Keller, Kenneth Keller, Richard M. Keller , Phillip Thomas Keller, James V. Keller and Ronald Keller. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Msgr. Alfred E. Smith will be celebrant. Burial will be in Little Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring, Maryland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, I hour prior to the service.
