GEORGE RAYMOND (SMOKE) SMITH, 75, of 11502 Dellwyn Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at his home. Born November 28, 1929 in Smoketown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edgar Smith and Florence Brenner Smith Yost. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was employed with Fairchild Industries, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211. He is survived by his wife, Janet M. Smith; two daughters, Theresa Ann Smith of Dallas, Texas, and Kimberly M. Klug, and husband, Gregory F. Klug, of Scotland, Pennsylvania; one son, George R. Smith, II of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Jan Marie Klug, Jason Gregory Klug, and Daniel Gregory Klug, all at home; and one great-grandson, Alexander Thomas Klug, at home. He was preceded in death by one sister, Genevieve Gilley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Christopher Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m.
