George Charles MacKnew, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Doey's House in Hagerstown. He was born in Baltimore, MD and raised in Pasadena, MD. George was the son of the late George W. MacKnew and Regina F. Truffer MacKnew, and a loving husband of 59 years to the late Ruth Evans MacKnew.

George was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He spent 40 years as a Meat Department Manager. Before moving to Hagerstown, he was very active at Saint Jane Frances De Chantal Catholic Church in Riviera Beach, MD. George was currently serving as the President of the Creekside Cottagers Association.

George is survived by his son, Aaron MacKnew of Prescott, AZ, his daughter, Susan Feehley of Hagerstown, MD, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane F. Matulonis and his brother, Donald MacKnew.

Family and friends are welcomed for a memorial service on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 2:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. Pastor Bill Divelbiss will officiate.
