Obituary

George Arthur Kibler, 75, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at his home surrounded by family.

George was born on June 4, 1951, in Hagerstown to the late Homer and Ida Pearl Kibler.

He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1969. George worked in manufacturing as a supervisor for several different corporations from 1971 until his retirement in 2009. George was a great athlete through his childhood and into his adulthood. He played recreational basketball with the same group of guys for 40 years. He also enjoyed playing recreational softball and flag football as an adult. He spent many years coaching baseball at the Hagerstown Colt Leage, Williamsport Legion, Funkstown Legion, and Hagerstown Pony League. He also coached recreational youth basketball for many years as well. George was also a part of a men’s breakfast club they called “The West End Boys” and George was known as “The Legend” and he enjoyed his time with these guys. George’s greatest joy was spoiling his grandchildren.

George is survived by his loving wife of 43 years , Beverly (Hagens) Kibler; two sons, Scott Kibler (Michele) and Michael Kibler (Jacolyn); Step daughter Britt Renner (Shawn); twelve grandchildren, Allison Kibler, Matthew Kibler, Zachary Kibler, Caitlin Clowser (Chad), Chase Renner (Savannah), Brycen Kibler, Hunter Cline (Morgan), Cheyenne Kibler, Taylor Kibler, Thomas Perry, Nicholas Perry, and Cody; six great-grandchildren, Teddy, Sonny, Liv, Kaya, Willow and Jayce; and four sisters, Ella Mae Weaver (Todd), Linda Davis (Roger), Martha Burner, and Dee Surrena (Mike), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Doris Taddeo; and brother Robert Kibler.

The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday September 21, 2026, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. SGM Larry Miller will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 11am to 1pm on Monday September 21, 2026.
