GEORGE CHARLES HEIMBUCH, 84, of Hagerstown, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia. Born December 19, 1921, in Union City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Edmund J. and Appolonia Merkl Heimbuch. He was a graduate of Holy Family High School, Union City, New Jersey. He was a W.W. II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Military Police. He was the manager of the Computer Center of Mack Trucks, Hagerstown, retiring in January 1987. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Halfway, Md. He was chairman of St. Joseph's Cub Pack 6; former president of St. Joseph's Parish Council; and the recipient of the Bishop's Medal. He was an officer of the Data Processing Management Association. He was a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree member; Catholic War Veterans 1895 and a member of the American Legion Post #211, Funkstown, Maryland. He is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Maryalyce "Babe" King Heimbuch; daughters, Cathleen Hannon of Hagerstown, Md.; Cynthia Welsh of Hedgesville, W. Va. and Nancy Lund of Hagerstown; sons, Gary Heimbuch of Boonsboro, Md. and Donald Heimbuch of Waynesboro, Pa.; and a brother, John Heimbuch of Gambrills, Md. He is also survived by grandchildren, Richard Hannon of Annapolis, Md., Kelli Foster of Hagerstown, Jennifer Heimbuch of Boonsboro, Md., Christopher Heimbuch of Waynesboro, Heidi Barrett of Hedgesville, W. Va., Sarah and Joshua Welsh of Hedgesville, W. Va., Siena and Alexander Lund of Hagerstown; great grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Foster of Hagerstown, Taylor and Logan Barrett of Hedgesville and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Edmund and Joseph Heimbuch; sisters, Appolonia , Marie and Matilda Heimbuch , Ann Messner and Marguerite Picardi. . Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. The Rev Christopher Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
