GARY LEE SAUNDERS, 76, of Falling Waters, WV, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, MD. Born December 31, 1941 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Julian and Pauline Esther (Starliper) Saunders. Gary served in the U.S. Navy. He loved horse racing and Nascar. He owned and operated the Friendly Caf, Colony Inn, and a number of other businesses over the years. Gary was well loved by many and will be sadly missed. Gary is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jones; three grandchildren, Alex Jones, Nate Jones and Bobby Saunders; a brother, Richard Saunders; a sister, Nancy Saunders; many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special niece, Kim Shifflett. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a son, Robert Saunders and a sister, Shirley Slick. A celebration of life will be held at 6 pm, Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD Pastor Justin Repp will officiate.
