Gary Wayne DeShong, 57, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018. Gary was born on September 6, 1960 in Hagerstown, MD to the late, Wayne DeShong and Margaret Moreland DeShong. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Linda DeShong. He is survived by his siblings, Doris Lewis (Kenny), Glenn DeShong (Shirley), and Diane Richardson, as well as many stepchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Gary retired from the Maryland Correctional Training Center as a correctional officer. He enjoyed playing cards, watching NASCAR, and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6-8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:00am at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery in Needmore, PA.
