FREDERICK BRACE BILLMEYER 92, of Hagerstown, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital. Born June 30, 1915 in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of the late George Jackson and Julia Catherine Bennett Billmeyer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Catherine Billmeyer December 27, 2006. He served in the U. S. Navy during W.W. II and was awarded three bronze stars. He retired from Sears and had previously worked at Fairchild Aircraft. He was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church where he was a head usher for 20 years and a member of the Methodist men's class. He was a member of Funkstown American Legion, Post #211. He is survived by two sons, Frederick Norman Billmeyer and wife Carole of Hagerstown, and Richard Joseph Billmeyer and wife Cathy, also of Hagerstown; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Bone and two brothers, Jack Billmeyer and Ernest Billmeyer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Dr. Thomas Gulbronson and Chaplain Kitty Lippy will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Military services at graveside will be provided by AMVETS Post #10. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests the omission of flowers and memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
