FRED ROBERT ROHRER, 90, of 1200 Hillbrook Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born June 25, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Fred W. and Lona Albert Rohrer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific as a C.B. He was employed as a letter carrier with the Postal Service, retiring in 1984 with over thirty years of service. He was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church. He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion, Post 42, as past commander, and the N.R.A. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Virginia Hewitt Rohrer; two sons, Gary W. Rohrer, and his wife, Marjorie, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Kirk L. Rohrer, and his wife, Cindy, of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Jaime Rohrer of Boonsboro, Maryland, Brooks Rohrer, Aaron Rohrer, and Travis Rohrer, all of Hagerstown, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion, Post 42. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p. m.
