Frank Earl Brakenwagen, 74, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Born February 15, 1947 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Barbara (Lindquist) Brakenwagen. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller, retiring in 2016. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Janet Brakenwagen and their beloved dog, Fuji. He is also surived by his sister, Karen Liersemann and husband, Rick, of Mansfield, OH; brother, Bob Brakenwagen and wife Linda, of Lake Wales, FL; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dave and Sue Dorsey of Hagerstown, MD; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bob and Sukey Rankin of Hagerstown, MD; and nephew, Lt. Col. Derek Rankin and wife, Lesley of Medford, NJ; daughter, Susan Brennan of Jacksonville, FL; and son, Frank Brakenwagen of Brunswick, GA. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Karl. At his request, there will be no services and interment will be at the convenience of the family at Rose Hill Cemetery.
