Obituary

FRANCES ETTA STROUPE, 73, of 14402 Mercersburg Road, Clear Spring, Maryland, died on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Western Maryland Hospital Center. Born April 28, 1932 in Big Spring, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Richard and Sally Mae Wiley Rubeck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland H. Stroupe. She was retired from Corning Glass in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters, Yvonne Long, Vickie Lark, and Minnie Hull, all of Hagerstown, and Audrey Weller and Vanessa McPherson, both of Clear Spring, Maryland; three sons, Leroy Files, Jr. of Winchester, Virginia, Kenneth Ketchens of Hagerstown, and Garland Ketchens of Clear Spring, Maryland; one step-son, Jack Stroupe of Hagerstown; one sister, Jane Castle of Hagerstown; one brother, Clyde Rubeck of Hagerstown; twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bessie Rubeck, Pauline Wiles, Rose Hose, and Hilda Lesher; and three brothers, Harry Rubeck, James Rubeck and Donald Rubeck. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Monday at the Mt. View Baptist Church, 12107 Walnut Point Road, Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Bill Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Sunday from 7 to 9 p. m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.
