Frances Joann Barnes, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center.  Born June 9, 1938, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Leo Eugene and Mary Bell (Miller) St. Clair.

Frances was a dedicated Washington County Board of Education School Bus Driver and a Frederick County Transit Driver. She enjoyed gambling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Barnes, Sr. and one sister, Peggy Sharrah.

Frances is survived by six children, Robin Cockroft, and husband, Leonard, William R. Barnes, Jr., and wife, Teresa, Mary Elizabeth Kimble, and husband, Mark, Kathy Branch, and husband, Alan, Joanna Barnes, significant other, Rodney, and John Barnes, and wife, Joann; one sister, Sarah (Susie) Grove; one brother, Robert Miller, and wife, Cindy; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Private graveside services will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery.
