FLORENCE EVELYN TROUPE WOLFORD, (Aunt Evie), formerly of 921 Frederick Street, Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown. Born July 20, 1921 in Reid, Washington County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late H. Mason (Mace) Troupe and Florence Leatherman Troupe. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester C. Cunningham, who died May 15, 1981, and by her second husband, Owen E. Wolford, who died November 21, 2004. She attended Hagerstown High School; was a graduate of Columbia Business School of Hagerstown and Scott's School of Beauty in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was employed as a secretary at Fairchild Aircraft for 5 years and later owned and operated LaVale's Beauty Salon for 26 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Hagerstown Church of the Brethren and a member of the former First Brethren Church (Hagerstown). She is survived by her nephew, Richard L. Kipe and wife Donna; step-son, Ronald Wolford; sisters, Eloise Shaffer and Patsy Johns and husband, Bud; brother, Donald Troupe and wife Betty; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand nephews and step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jacob D. Troupe, and three sisters, Pauline Eigenbrode, Doris Pierson, both of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Janet Kipe of Hagerstown. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. Pastor Dean Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Leitersburg Cemetery, Leitersburg, Maryland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
