Florence Elizabeth Nolan, beacon of courage, love, and kindness, passed away on February 18, 2025. Born February 26, 1954 in Baltimore, MD, Florence's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and a generous heart.
Her journey began in the lively streets of Baltimore, where she was born into the loving family as the daughter of Frank and Rita Valenzia. She was a cherished sister to Michael Valenzia and wife, Donna of Lutherville, MD, sister Teresa Valenzia of Falling Waters, WV, sister's Rose and Mary, and brothers, Frankie and Anthony. Though her parents and some siblings preceded her in death, their values and love shaped the remarkable women she became.
For 52 plus years, Florence shared an unwavering bond with her devoted husband, Joe Nolan. Their love was the foundation for the beautiful family they built together, including their sons, Freddy Nolan and girlfriend, Brandy of Martinsburg, WV, and Charles Nolan and girlfriend, Kristy of Falling Waters, WV. Their family grew to include former daughter-in-law, Sandi Miller and husband, Jim, as well as lineage of grandchildren who brought immense joy to Florence's life: Tyler Nolan, Zachary Nolan and girlfriend, Makayla, Kelsey Nolan, and Kamdyn Nolan and girlfriend, Deanna. The joy was multiplied with the arrival of great grandchildren, Lila and Ryder Nolan. Florence's love extended to her cherished fur babies, Oma, Hazel, and Bella who brought additional warmth and companionship to her home. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her professional life was marked by her dedication to serving her community through her work at the Berkeley County WV Tax Office from which she retired from in 2020 where she made memorable friendships.
Florence Elizabeth Nolan's life was a journey of love, commitment and service. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on the hearts of who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will announce a Celebration of Life at a later date.
