FLORENCE SOPHIE MURRAY, 86, of 1183 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, January 13, 2005 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born June 6, 1918 in Patterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Bertha Markle Nordman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Murray on May 12, 2001. She was the Executive Secretary with the Medical Health Association. She was presented the Finding Paths Award in 1991 by Brook Lane Mental Health Association. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Oak Ridge Garden Club, and the Catholic Daughters. She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Murray of Rumson, New Jersey, and Kevin D. Murray, M. D. of Honolulu, Hawaii; one brother, Warren Herzog of Santa Monica, California; and four grandchildren, Michael Murray of San Antonio, Texas, Patrick Murray of Austin, Texas, Robert E. Murray III of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Katrina Murray of Rumson, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by one son, Lt. Col. James M. Murray, M. D.; and one brother, William Herzog. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a. m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Alfred Smith will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Sunday from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m.
