Obituary

Faith Hope Canon, 59, of Kearneysville, WV, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Inova Hospital in Falls Church, VA.

Born on November 22, 1966, in Boston, MA, Faith was the daughter of Edward Szadaj and Barbara Harris-Fisher. She earned her GED from Braintree High School in 1985 and later attended ECPI University, where she received her AutoCAD Certificate in 1993. Faith worked as a Payroll Specialist at Northrop Grumman from 2004 until November 2009.

Faith married the love of her life, Sarah Morris, on November 21, 2007, at Niagara Falls, Canada. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Szadaj, and her brother, Walter Blackhall Harris III.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved wife of 20 years, Sarah Morris of Kearneysville, WV; her two children, Jennifer Lynn Canon of Franklin, VA, and Julian Lee Andrew Canon and his wife, Brittany Delp, of Carlisle, PA; her mother, Barbara Harris-Fisher, and stepfather, Joel Fisher, of Martinsville, VA; and her four sisters: Anna St. Angelo and her husband, Stephen, of Orange Park, FL; Katherine Eison Ramsey and her husband of Braintree, MA; Michele Szadaj and her wife, Cathy Coppin, of Ferrum, VA; and Stephanie Giannini of Waterbury, CT.

She is also lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren, Lorelai Delp, Cecily Delp, Greyson Delp, and Zoe Delp, all of Carlisle, PA; her best friend, Tracy Fennessy of Jacksonville, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who loved her deeply.

Faith had the biggest heart and an endless capacity for love. She wore her heart on her sleeve and opened her home to anyone in need of a safe place. A compassionate listener and nurturing, motherly figure, she touched the lives of everyone close to her—especially her children.

She had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, canoeing, and spending time at the beach. Faith was also a talented singer, songwriter, and musician who loved music in all forms. She found joy in karaoke, playing guitar, and teaching others how to play.

Faith was a passionate supporter and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. She encouraged others to embrace their true, authentic selves and reminded everyone that it is okay to live openly and honestly.

Above all, Faith cherished every moment spent with her wife and family. She dedicated her life to bringing smiles to others and spreading love wherever she went.

She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
