Evelyn Marguerite Reid, 96, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Meritus Medical Center. Born November 4, 1926 in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Blanch Viola (Collison) King.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Reid, on September 9, 2008.

Evelyn loved her family and her cats. She was a member of the Model T-Ford Club and was a Lady Amvet member. She was a lifelong member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren and loved to read The Daily Bread booklet each day.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Reid (companion, Sue); granddaughter, Ashley Kelvey (husband, Joshua); grandson, Chris Reid (wife, Meagan); five great grandchildren, Christopher "Zack", Conner, Chloe, Logan, and Raelyn; two brothers, Donald King (wife, Pat), and Wilbur King (wife, Barb); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Lynnie "Jeffrey" Reid; two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 10-11am at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The funeral service will begin at 11am with Pastor Twyla Rowe officiating, and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
