EVELYN M. KENT, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2009 surrounded by her family. Born on January 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Harlen T. Rider and Lula A Gruber Rider. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Ernest Kent. She was a homemaker and mother of four children. Two daughters, Joyce A. Kinney of Hagerstown, and Susan D. Holbruner of Williamsport; two sons, Ernest L. Kent of Williamsport and Gary W. Kent of Halfway; four sisters, Catherine Cline, Helen Embly, Lois Arnold and Peggy Sword all from Hagerstown; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Gardiner; four brothers, John Rider, Paul Deeds, Harlan Rider and Carl Deeds. She was active at the Hagerstown Bible Church. She attended the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church. Burial will be private for the family. Gerald Carbaugh officiating.
