Eva Mae Huyett, 86, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at home. Born May 17, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Holiday and Catherine Blanche (Moats) Chaney. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Eugene R. Huyett. She worked as a clerk at Hagerstown Laundry and Dry Cleaning. Eva is survived by her beloved children, Sonja Roadarmel, who was also her caregiver, Bonnie Flannery, Sonny Hafer, Freddy Hafer, and Mary Urick. They all thought of her as their own mother. She is also survived by Jacob Hartpence who helped motivate her to get up and be active. Eva was preceded in death by five sisters, Elaine Esposito, Pauline Hafer, Otelia Chaney, Emma Shantz, and Esther McFadden; and two brothers, Robert Chaney and Howard Chaney. The funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Sergeant Major Larry Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
