ETHEL JEAN SULLIVAN, 79, of 220 Avon Road, Hagerstown, Md., died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Julia Manor Nursing Home. Born May 11, 1929 in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clyde Fitch and Katherine Elizabeth Frush Anderson. She was a member of the Washington Square United Methodist Church, and participated on both youth and adult choirs over the years. She was a member of A.A.R.P. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, John L. Sullivan Sr.; three daughters, Sharon Ann Griffith, and husband Ray (Tony), of Hagerstown, Cindy Jean Dixon, and husband Dale, of Gettysburg, Pa., and Krista Leigh Evans of Germantown, Md.; one son, John Lee Sullivan Jr. of Hagerstown; four brothers, William Anderson and Jack Anderson, both of Hagerstown, Raymond Anderson of Chambersburg, Pa. and Stanley Anderson of Falling Waters, WVa.; grandchildren, Stacy Rae Bowles, and husband Jon, Cassie Lynne Macker, Dustin Michael Dixon, Sarah Nicole Evans, and Brian Christopher Evans; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Danielle Macker, Nicholas Ryan Macker, and Isabelle Alexis Macker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jill Renee Griffith, and two brothers, Robert Anderson and Clyde Anderson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Monday at the Washington Square United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Lowans will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
