Ernest I. Olsen, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023.  Born September 9, 1934 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Mary Margaret (Smith) and Ernest Olsen.

He served with the U.S. Airforce, and then worked as a Traffic Controller for Eastern Airlines. He loved doing outside work and feeding the birds and squirrels.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Alice A. Olsen; three stepdaughters, Rhonda J. Geesaman (husband, Gerald), Tina M. Barr (husband, Curtis), and Melody A. Akanbi; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Debra Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ernest I. Olsen, Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Simmers and Sylvia Bingaman.

A service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be given to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
