ERIS JUNE NORVELL, 90, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home. Born June 22, 1923 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late George Harrison Day and Bessie Lee Lynch. June was a retired Washington County elementary school teacher, and an avid world traveler. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Joan Wilson of Hagerstown, Wanda M. Poffenberger and husband Walter E. of Middletown, MD., and Judith A. Small of Hagerstown; one son, J. Donald Norvell, Jr. and wife Barbara M. of Hagerstown; one sister, Wanda J. Bishop of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Caren M. Harder, David W. Poffenberger, Daniel E. Poffenberger, Timothy A. Small and Gregory P. Small; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special companion, Edmund Nottage of Warwick of Rhode Island. June is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Norvell; two sisters, one brother; and one granddaughter. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Friday, March 14, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, MD.
