ERCEL "JUANITA" EMSWILER, 85, formerly of Dargan, Maryland and Hagerstown, Maryland, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. She was born March 11, 1923 in Dargan, Maryland, to the late James Franklin and Lottie Mae Myers Knight. She was of the Protestant faith. She retired in 1986 from Fairchild Aircraft and Rohr Industries. Survivors include three sons, Eugene Kretzer and wife Peggy of Needmore, Pennsylvania, Ricky Kretzer of State Line, Pennsylvania, and William Smith and wife Debbie of Fairplay, Maryland; four daughters, Marlene Barger and husband Ray of Hagerstown, Linda Lewis of Hagerstown, Theresa Tate and husband Allen of Odenton, Maryland, and Donna Smith, with whom she lived for the past eleven years, of Baltimore, Maryland; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and her "forever" best friend, Eva Lickey of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one sister, Henrietta Wilson of Houston, Texas; one brother, James Knight of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Charles F. "Bud" Kretzer, William "Cigar" Smith, and John Emswiler. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry D. Kretzer; one brother, Edward Knight; and one sister, Glondola "Bea" Glenn. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Doris J. Doub will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
