ELIZABETH CLEO BROADUS SMITH, 72, of 222 North Jonathan Street in Hagerstown, Maryland, departed her life on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Washington County Hospital. Elizabeth was born on September 4, 1935 in Page County, Virginia. She was a graduate of North Street School in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was employed by The Broad Axe, and a former employee of Mack Truck in Hagerstown. She was a daughter of the Sharon Temple #160 and a member of Zion Baptist Church. Elizabeth is survived by three daughters, Aloha M. Broadus, Sonia E. Broadus and Tonya N. Smith; one sister, Geraldine Freeman; seven grandchildren, Monique R. Broadus, Nikkia D. Broadus, Jerome A. Broadus, Fernando E. Broadus, Shawnta N. Keefer, Orlando J. Smith and Ke'shae C. Chung; thirteen great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Kenneth Stoner; one friendly house dog, Fred Broadus Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; one god-son, Larry Washington; one aunt, Sarah Woodson, all of Hagerstown. She is going home to be with her mother, Martha Faulkner; foster mother, Margaret Broadus; two daughters, Margaret L. Broadus Jones and Zina E. Broadus Moody, all of Hagerstown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Joseph Fowlkes will officiate. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. prior to the service.
