ELIZABETH FRANCES BROWN, 81, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her home. Born November 27, 1928 in Harrisonburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. and Ethel Waugh Barrett. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She grew up in Washington, D. C. and graduated from McKinley High School. She was a legal secretary in Washington for many years before moving to the coastal area of Delaware and then to Bradenton, Florida and Williamsburg, Virginia. She is survived by one daughter, Jane Whitely-Morningstar and husband, Bob of Greencastle, PA; one son, Glen Barrett Whitely of Florida; one sister, Doris Wilson of California; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise Barrett. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
