ELIZA JANE HUDGINS BENNETT, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 18, 2015 at her home. Born November 10, 1925 in Buckingham County, VA, she was one of thirteen children, and the daughter of the late John and the Eliza Wright Hudgins. Eliza enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, cleaning and sharing the love of Christ. She always looked forward to singing along with the choir at Saint Joy Baptist church during its annual revival in Buckingham, VA. Eliza is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Earl Edward Bennett of Hagerstown, MD; two daughters, Dianne Duncan of Hagerstown, MD, and Lisa Campbell of Hagerstown, MD; two sons, Eugene Hudgins of Atlanta, GA, and Roland Bennett of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Erica Reid, Marcel Campbell, Marcus Hudgins, Renauld Duncan and Charisse Duncan; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held 11am, Friday, January 23, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor G. Nathan Bell will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
