Egamil
Normil
Sep 13, 1943 — Jan 15, 2026
Egamil Normil, a cherished soul known for his loving nature, kindness, and handy skills, was called home to the Lord on January 15, 2026, after a battle with sickness. Born on September 13, 1943, in Gonaives, Haiti, Egamil's journey through life was marked by his unwavering faith, his commitment to his family, and his service to his community. He departed from this world in Hagerstown, MD, at Meritus Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Egamil was a beacon of light in the lives of his children: Edgard, Herodia, Emilienne, Julie, Eric, Anthonio, Cheder, Guerrier, Jamessy, and Estherlande. He was a pillar of strength and guidance for his in-laws Beatrice, Edrice, Isemene, Claricia, Magalie, and Phabienne. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Souvenir, Emalie, Christopher, Rosalineda, Benjunior, Bilghie, Lucianie, Edwin, Dawens, Marc, Emilson, Jackito, Sherbine, mackenley, Rikervens, Kerby, Ismael, Ricardo, Obelgie, Rose Malika, Jamessley, and Estherlin, as well as his great-grandsons Vicktur, Emildja, and Tasha.
Egamil's life was a testament to his faith and the Christian values he held dear. His commitment to his beliefs was evident in the way he lived his life, always putting others before himself and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a man of the earth, a veteran who took pride in his work as a farmer, cultivating not only the land but also the hearts of those around him with his music and humor.
Egamil's love for music and jokes was matched only by his handy nature, often found fixing and creating, leaving a lasting impression on all he encountered. Described by those who knew him best as loving, kind, and handy, he embodied these traits in every interaction and every relationship.
Though we mourn the loss of such a remarkable soul, we also rejoice in the knowledge that Egamil's legacy is etched into the lives of his family and the community he so dearly loved. His spirit, characterized by compassion and generosity, will continue to live on through the stories shared, the memories cherished, and the love he planted in the hearts of his family.
Egamil Normil's life was a journey of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. As we say our earthly goodbyes, we take solace in the belief that he has found peace in the arms of the Lord. We celebrate a life well-lived, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose presence will forever be missed but whose spirit will always remain.
The funeral will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Joseph Constane will officiate. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
